Throughout the course of Underworld, Selene is seen driving to various locations in Budapest. The Vampire mansion, Ördögház, is located just north of here, as are various other locations, including the subway station, the Lycan den, and at least one Vampire safe house within or underneath the city itself. When Selene loses consciousness after being stabbed by Lucian, she and Michael Corvin end up in the Danube.
A Vampire safe house and Ördögház are both visited in Underworld: Evolution, with most of the film’s events taking place just outside the city. In the novelization, Marcus Corvinus marvels at how much the area has changed since his last reign 200 years earlier.
The city is seen again in the non-canon novel, Blood Enemy. In Blood Enemy, all of the present-day action occurs within Budapest, including a shoot-out at Statue Park (also known as Memento Park), a real-life location in Budapest.

- Part of the reason that the writers and filmmakers chose to base the events of the film in Budapest was because of its Gothic architecture, and the other part being for the Central Eastern-European location, Hungary neighbouring Romania and Transylvania.
- It is as yet unknown whenever or not the events of Underworld: Awakening occur in Budapest as well.
