Detective Sebastian is a human detective in the not-too-distant future. He was once married to a nurse who became a Vampire after she was bitten during a shift. Despite this, the two of them managed to make a life for themselves until she was discovered during one of the savage Purges engineered by Antigen. Rather than be captured and executed, his wife chose to die by self-immolation in sunlight after giving him her goodbye. As a result of witnessing her death firsthand, Sebastian is sympathetic to Vampires instead of regarding them as carriers of a disease that must be eradicated, which is the official policy.
Underworld: Awakening
When Selene contacts him for information about a recent Lycan raid, the two team up to attack Antigen and rescue Selene's Hybrid daughter, Eve. Although injured during the fight, Sebastian survives, even managing to kill a couple of the Lycans in the company with well-placed bullets. He agrees to provide the approaching police with false information to give Selene and her family time to escape.
