First of all, Michael is my favorite character hands down in the Franchise, so of course I was disappointed to find out he was getting killed off. I tend to defend the Producers, I truly believe they wanted Scott Speedman to return for Blood Wars but it just appears he doesn't want to be apart of the Franchise anymore. I definitely wouldn't have been opposed to a recast but I respect the Producers not do that even if they got a bad stand in for his brief appearances in Awakening & Blood Wars. After seeing the Movie, a lot of the people seemed to not be giving the details of how exactly Michael was killed and believe me he is dead. It's actually revealed after Selene ruptured his cryo tube Marius abducted him from Antigen, as soon as Michael woke up (telling Marius "Im one of you") he actually proceeds by shooting him in the head and then shows Michaels body hanging upside down as Marius drains his blood. Before Michael is shot, aside from the obvious not, looking like Speedman, Michael looks extremely frail and weak. As you remember from Evolution after Michael was shot by the police he needed fresh blood to sustain and revive his wounds as he was clearly in pain, so.. Think about it, Michael is abducted from an already weak state, shot directly in the head, and his entire body drained of his blood. I'm not defending the decision to kill of Michael but if there was a way to kill off the character, I was actually alright with how they handled it. And yes, he is dead, not the supposedly 'Assumed Dead' in his bio.
Well then, I can only hope they are not opposed to bringing him back. I'm not a big fan of resurrection plots, but considering how powerful and resilient they made hybrids. They can choose to revive Michael as long as his body is not destroyed.
